Religious Education

St. Joseph’s Primary School invites and support students to discover Jesus’ presence in their daily lives. Within a gospel-centred environment students are challenged and supported to understand themselves and the world in which they live through a world view founded in Scripture and in the traditions of the Catholic community – its stories, its worships, its experiences and its teachings.

Religious Education Curriculum

The primary curriculum resource for Religious Education is the diocesan based program known as Awakenings. The content of the program is comprised of the following strands:

  • Christian Ethics – Personal and Social
  • Church and Tradition
  • God, Religion and Society
  • Prayer, Liturgy and Sacraments
  • Scripture, Israel and Jesus

Each strand is present for all year levels and is developmental from F-6.
